The book contains information on the professional and personal life of the famous Soviet Union politician, Anastas Mikoyan (1895–1978). The author reviewed the main stages of his political biography, and his participation in the formation of the domestic and foreign policy of the USSR. The previously unpublished archival materials: memoirs of contemporaries, interviews with members of his family, as well as materials for the sake of preserving the historical memory of Mikoyan create separate sections of the book. The book consists of three main sections. The first includes scientific articles by historians from Russia and Serbia. The following section represents a collection of materials related to the archives. It provides an overview of the resources of the Archive of the President of the Russian Federation (AP RF), the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History (RGASPI) and the State Archive of the Russian Federation (GARF); and presents commented materials related to Mikoyan’s activities to normalize Soviet-Chinese relations in 1964–1965. The third section contains materials related to the preservation of the historical memory of Mikoyan. The appendix contains fragments of previously published interviews with Mikoyan’s family members, and excerpts from the memories of people who personally worked or communicated with him, as well as illustrations.
